Behavior becoming a thug. Unrepentant.
Ready for his closeup, Trump to appear in court, Thursday.
Ready for prime time. The tv Apprentice huckster, this wanna be dictator will be properly famous now. History books will commemorate him as the first former president to be indicted, but we don’t yet know how it all goes from here.

Formal indictment of the former president was made yesterday, August 1, 2023 at the end of the day leaves Trump faceing charges of attempting to defraud the American people of the election won by Joe Biden and of taking actions to obstruct the counting of the electors on Jan 6. Obstructing an official proceeding of Congress and attempting to deprive us of our right to vote attempting to effectively expunge all votes. To give it to Trump. It was fraud. It was planned over the course of months. There were plans and plans to cover the plans if plans failed. It’s all in the indictment, written as a story with little or no legal words to stumble over. Reading the indictment becomes clear that the idea was Trumps as he sought to find a way, soliciting ideas and helpers along the way. Told multiple times by a number of his otherwise insiders the election was lost, the claims were not valid, Trump persisted. He alone carried the torch. His torch.
The indictment is meant to be read. Here is a copy. They are easy to find on the internet. It’s a walk down memory lane. The false claims we lived through are there. We lived through the events feeling a helplessness, a loss of the reality we liked being drained from each moment of head shaking lies and denials of our rights.
His false claims in place of truth drained away the hope of our future we had wanted and voted for. It was ours. Biden was our future. Trump wanted it for himself in spite of what he earned or deserved. It comes back like a fog of remembrance too thin now to actually harm. When Biden arrived at the White House, he was met with none of the materials for a smooth transition. He also inherited a tough spot with Afghanistan. Trump not at the inauguration, not at any of the ceremonies to welcome the next president to the White House. Instead, Trump was getting his bankers boxes together. Zipping some blue tape on them and heading out to points south. Hailing his helicopter. B Bye Brandon, so long and good luck. Sorry, the rose garden could use a look.
It’s still going on, he’s still at it and so are DeSantis and Scott. Today they all upheld “The Lie”, as if there were only one.
Today, Mike Pence has some stronger rhetoric about that lie. He’s now calling the lawyers and others surrounding Trump, supporting the lie crackpots. Now that he has some back up, but okay. Good on you Mr. McFlyhead Pence. To your credit you did not support Trump on that day of insurrection at the Capitol. Yours was the action of a man taking a stand for right in the face of enormous pressure and threats. History will mark it so, too.
The reading indictment is a retelling of the story as it unfolded with more than we knew at the time. If you didn’t read the Muller Report now is your chance at making the leap into the legal beagle world. The cool part is at the very top:
It’s just Donald. USA V. Trump. As it seems, it has always been. Yes, he had some helpers. His idea folks like John Eastman whose general plan came from this previously well respected lawyer. Trump couldn’t and didn’t do it alone. He asked, pleaded, yelled for, demanded and never stopped, hasn’t stopped, till he managed in the moment to get his demands met.
There were leaks that Former knew he’d lost. He had acknowledged his loss to Biden to a few in the inner circle. Even an odd comment during a public rally, yeah, he did. He knew and in the next breath he acted and demanded as if he were cheated and needed help. Help to find the people that would give him the answer that gold plated, bigoted, gay and closeted, Roy Cohen would. That DeOliveira manager at Mar a Lago may have given him what he wanted or tried, “The boss wants…”. Nice dream. Wave and shout and life is all you want it to be. Perhaps some ketchup?
In their absence, looking for a pasty, he keeps yammering till someone takes pity, someone who doesn’t know the backstory and tries, maybe finds a way.
It is over. Or it should be. It won’t be. Stopping would be admitting defeat. Admitting defeat isn’t possible. It will play out in the courts just as all the voting challenges did. Trump will likely be found guilty just as the courts were proven fair. He will be shocked, I will bet on that.
Trump will be well over the thousandth person to be tried for their part in January 6th events. Overwhelmingly, those indicted were found guilty and have served or are serving time in prison.
We have come a distance from the drama and can look back from a different vantage point. Life is better. Gas is down. Economy is humming. Fox is calmer without Tucker Carlson and so are we. Climate change has the planet raging with seasonal fires and we are more cognizant than ever about our ability to make a difference. We need the leadership that has people and the planets protection at heart. Authoritarian leaders who will make climate worse. They are on the rise in the world and yet, we do have a choice. We got a lick of it with Trump. Want more?
The indictment of Trump has been made public. He is supposed to appear in DC on Thursday, August 3, 2023, tomorrow. It will be shocking if he doesn’t.
Thanks for being here. Stay cool. Be a dear, Subscribe and share.
