Bidenomics to replace Reganomics which was labeled trickle down economics which we swallowed whole for too long. Regan sold us on small corporate taxes, to be small so they would have a surplus to allow to be gently sprayed like welcome raindrops on the heads of the needy stimulating growth. Didn’t really work as was demonstrated ad nauseam and now Biden has brought to life a much needed overhaul to our nations economy frame of how it works to as he puts it, to build the middle class first. With jobs filled and unemployment numbers creating a new historic low, we should be hearing more trumpets. Now’s your chance and …..here is a longer explanation of Bidenomics.
This new economy approach is an honest change that is part of the ten year plan to bring high speed Internet, broadband to everywhere much as Roosevelt brought roads to the US connecting west to east coast in a way that just had not been done. This is the infrastructure work we have needed. Other big changes are coming with shifting powers worldwide that have yet fully shifted. Positioning ourselves as a nation in international affairs, a move away from manufacturing in China by US companies is continuing, not always back to the states but to Vietnam for example. As China continues to eye Taiwan we continue to reassess our relationships too.
It is a vast industry, worth almost $100bn (£73bn) in 2021. A Chinese takeover in Taiwan could give Beijing some control over one of the world's most important industries. Apr 6, 2023
China is currently helping financially prop up Russia as we continue to sanction Russia into oblivion in hopes of thwarting their war of aggression on Ukraine. What’s going on seems like hands gracefully folded, each finger a problem to solve, all interconnected. The solutions Biden is applying seem like a good glove fit. And of course the media is plastering all this everywhere? Yes and no. Mostly no and are more focused today that Joe wears a night mask connected to a CPAC machine as if only old people do that.
So Joe and Kamala are pulling the United States of America from the downhill slide that Trump Dobbs Trump began with a shove and hiding files and firing folks and we’re really feeling the lift I believe. There’s more daylight between us and the crazies on the Hill they call the Freedom Caucus. Their lies get broader every day and more ridiculous. Joe Biden’s message is that he, as do I, trusts the American people to make the right decisions. He is staying out of things that presidents typically stay out of like the Department of Justice to direct their work. They have the law to uphold and that should be the guide rather than a hand from the oval.
On the Supreme Court decision handed down today reversing Affirmative Action, Joe says he’s disappointed as are most aligned with democracy and people who are generally left leaning in another polarizing decision. It’s a big decision with more repercussion than I have yet to understand, and as with the Dobbs decision reversing women’s right to privacy and abortion, the Supreme Court could have waited but seemed to rush the decisions through. More distrust and disappointment from the branch of government that won’t be moved by public criticism or removed or added to without monumental effort by people who will not be moved. It’s frustrating.
We wait for more on what happening in Russia to see the black box of information is indeed opaque. Scenarios that seemed to flow from what spilt out into the world finally are exhausted. But until the next mouse poot we hear from the east, Putin is compromised as he is thought to be weakened by the whole almost coup by his old friend to which he gave all opportunity to, … his “chef”. Thinking in mob terms because they all are mobsters of enormous means, the different oligarchs or heads are likely talking among themselves and figuring out how to go forward without Putin. This seems inevitable and hopefully will happen with little turmoil but nothing is guaranteed.
The reasons for Russia moving forward with a new president yet to be named has a lot to do with rising unhappiness with the results of the Ukraine war. A war we acknowledge as bing a year old now since the Spring, but it is more closer to ten difficult years for the entire region.
In February and March 2014, Russia invaded and subsequently annexed the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. This event took place in the relative power vacuum on the immediate aftermath of the Revolution of Dignity and was the beginning act of the wider Russo-Ukrainian War. (Attack on Ukraine by Russia, a one sided war of aggression)
In this busy week, Rudy (Tooty fresh and fruity) Giuliani spoke to the Jack Smith team of prosecutors in what can only realistically be described as a tell all in trade for whatever he can get. Recall if you can through all the schenanigans, Rudy was lead lawyer on Trumps push in Georgia and so many other attempted capers.
Aside from being a two term mayor of NYC, he was a federal prosecutor (!) so, he understands full well how this game is played and where he might find some butter for, perhaps, one side of his bread or a shot or two in his empty glass.
