There are two metrics that help doctors and patients talk and decide about cancer treatment. There’s s special scale for prostate cancer called the Gleason Score. It goes from 1 to 10. Ten being the most complicated discussion with decisions for doctor and patient. Cancer has its own scale generally for all types and it goes 1 to 4. Four being the last stage. Often people may decide to opt for palliative care over cancer treatment that extends life.
