We are over the hump and anyone with things to do is out getting those things done.
The country is waking from a lot of stuff. Covid is in the background as we strive to fold that into life, but the grief, can and should even in healthy minds still be with us. Fragile a bit for the holidays, any day at all, people are missed and since it’s been only a year or a bit more form many, deep sadness is understandable. The election of 2022 is winding down. A very narrow escape, and still counting, to see that a win is only a bid for time.
The people have rejected “crazy” is a main take away from the election. That is good. Crowd of one has ignored all signs in an effort to continue the con. The grift. Hurts to type the sad old words as the equivalencies to a damaged brain or a sick pet nosing at favorite toys, rise up. Moving on, with a watchful eye is a choice, too.
Two years to 2024 and not a hero for democracy in sight. Joe is amazing but not getting the overwhelming support in the hero department. He is doing his job extremely well, as it should be done. Without glamor, with benefit to the people. Fixing the broken links in NATO, most recently cooling the temperatures with China. Xi, after this election sees his options as more narrow in the world. We reject the Republican drift to Putin, and thereby to Xi. Manufacturing is coming back to the US and out of China. Money always has the last word. Biden knows that language well as he steers the United States to better economic waters and away from China. Cooperation generally follows.
Seems we are entering a time of good sense. Thinking through ones options and pondering the lane in front of us.
Feels like the trump years was a blender of confusion and after a return to relative normalcy we have once found our voice through our best and very safe method of voting.
Democracy is what we are committed to. That is clear. It’s a majority. Also clear. Who will lead and where will we go as a society, a civilization, a country. Vision is missing from a people who have narrowly escaped certain and present danger. Understandable. Healing is important but slap on a bandage and walk it off. Vision is a view of the possibilities. It’s a vision for all not for some individual to present for our approval. The future is unknown and we get to help make it. It’s not for Musk to say. He will lead us to Mars and also put a bow on Ukraine for Putin, cause, well, Mars is better. Trump “announces” the day Putin (waiting for more details) hits NATO ally Poland with missiles? Sigh.
So, Cinderella, (a synopsis) is stuck in the kitchen, scrubbing. Telepathically gets helpful varmints to gather the clothes and grab her a ride to the palace. Captures the Prince with her vibe, and ultimately is wrenched from her cruel custodians. Dependent on the Prince for liberation, he is the hero in Cinderella’s story.
I offer a variation.
Cinderella, is stuck in the kitchen, scrubbing. Telepathically gets helpful varmints to gather clothes and grab her a ride. Cindy leaves skid marks.
“We the people.” Three words I’d like to see spoken with real solidarity again. They stole this as they tried to steal the flag from us and the democracy too. I’m not letting them keep any of it. (Including the documents you creep.) We the people will figure it out. Telepathically, and more. If we can’t trust a voice, shut it off. Less complaining and more positive doing. Wait for no hero. There is no hero. “We” are the story, the society and the civilization we want to build. Side stories are distractions. What will, who will, when will, if you are asking those questions, you are not part of an answer. Wrong answers will also be entertained but not adhered to. Answers will be in short form and no multiple choice. BS essays will be penalized for wasting everyones time. Go.
