The lies are silly, legendary and propagandist in nature. Outrageous is the political scene and with about 30 days before the election it can only get crazier. Seems there is a lot of personal stories seeping into the dialogue as we get closer. How are “these people” going to really live their lives when the laws take effect? Would they vote for themselves? Just how much do they sweat at night? These politicians may have a few dollars but they are not billionaires living somehow separate from the rest of us peons. We all shop at Costco or Sam’s. Maybe the mega rich can pay for secrecy with private hospitals, but hey, even billionaires drive on the roads even if it is only from the airpot to their homes.
Which lies should we peruse first? Ginny Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is not a political figure in that she is not running for office but has dabbled in some coup-like behavior. She is front and center on the political scene. One might say recent history is even lightly laced with seditious conspiracy, all yet to be understood. She was requested to speak with the Jan 6 committee and she did keep her appointment. Her walk to the hearing room was captured by journalists. She smiled past her public as she walked with scarf blowing gently in her gait. No schlubby foot dragging or face hiding shame. Nope. Carefree and self possessed.
There are text messages between Virginia Thomas, who prefers “Ginny”, and Mark Meadows and many others in the committees sights, not to mention the Department of Justice. She headed a committee that helped put certain aspects of the January 6 day at the Elipse together. Ginny is now as she was then, convinced that the election was stolen from the loser, Trump. We wait for more details concerning her testimony. We did hear that she maintains her position and she may not actually be lying. She may simply be slow to understand the many court rulings have shown no truth to the lingering wisp of an idea that Biden was installed incorrectly. Thomas also maintains her activities are completely separate from and never mentioned to her husband.
Hershel Walker is a Senatorial wannabe for the state of Georgia. He’s a former pro football player. The antiabortion stance he is advocating is so fierce, no abortive procedures will be allowed in Georgia or anywhere, if Hershel has anything to say about it. He’s a Trump pick using Trump rhetoric. Indeed, they have history. Walker was a ball player for a Trump owned team, yaddy, yaddy, yaddda, it all went into bankruptcy.
Today’s (10/4/22) release of Walker’s sons video telling the world of his fathers lies about his own life and family was received with strong emotion from Twitterworld and elsewhere. Not shock because we know Walker must be lying about his past, his family and the abortion he paid for. He says it ever happened.
Hershel’s sons speech was played everywhere. We all listened while understanding his frustrations. The young man has been a lot. It is crystal clear he is a bright star of a soul simply broadcasting truth. We see it. We feel lit.
We see through all the lies. Does everyone? Mostly. Is it still happening? You bet.
This is all beginning to remind me of a particular day with my family in December of some year when I was about four plus year of age. The summer prior to that day, I was at the back door of the house with cousin Penny, three years my senior. Some mumble thing about Santa Claus. “You still think Santa is real?” her head recoils. Hands on hips, her remarks let me know he is not. That was all it took. Shaken inside. Worried and not to be shown as dumb, uncool, I said something something something. Zip now to December of that year.
In the car. In a parking lot. Shopping for gifts on the miracle mile and the conversation shifts to Santa and his helpers. I get the look. “Does she still believe?”, is whispered. Oh, crap. Jig is up. I play dumb. Keep the happy secret. Believe in Santa and don’t see the boxes going into the trunk. I play dumb and the internal dialogue is akin to “Three Faces of Eve”.
I fooled them. They are safe and I am boxed into the lie.
Don’t be boxed in. There are better things to come. Look around. Better things are already here.
Vote on November 8, 2022. It’s a Tuesday.
