Jan 6 Hearing vs. The Big Lie
Gaslighting meets reality.

January 6 Hearings vs. The Big Lie are capturing huge attention. Twenty million viewers reports the NY Times with another hearing scheduled for July 12 at 1 pm eastern. We will see how those numbers do, going up or down as the hearing coming up promises to be full of, new to the public, information. Hard to wait and the speculators are humming.
Poised in a great divide of political, and religious thought, the country continues to move forward in our epic chapter of change, unknowing where it will all lead. The divide continues on wether the hearings will lead somewhere worthwhile.
The Committee’s aim is fact finding and educating the public on the facts, eventually handing those facts to “the man” for legal prosecution is also a goal. Never has the truth been more difficult to identify. Fortunately, like the sun and the moon, the truth finds a way of coming out, rising like cream to the top. Like light, the truth is warming and leads us to safety out of the darkness of anxiety, depression, self doubt and other symptoms of PTSD which take root in an atmosphere of lies, half truths known as gaslighting.
A county, like an individual can show signs of illness or health. We look to quantifiable metrics for the economic health of the country by looking at the job market, interest rates and such. The emotional health is tougher to quantify but look to metrics on higher gun sales, more shootings, suicides, drug arrests and more. There is also polling on a number of subjects that show if people are in a mood to buy or save. Each carrying a signal of mood and confidence.
The concept of gaslighting has become too familiar. The damage and the way out are less talked about but we are already in the journey through what can only be described as the calm, cool efforts of the January 6 Committee.

Gaslighting is like an old fashioned parlor game. It takes two, but, more can play. It needs a leader and at least one follower. There are no turns. If the leader loses his grip on the lead position, the game is then over. After living through heavy gaslighting for several years now, we understand “fake”, “alternative”, and name calling (woke, snowflake) as normal, but, twisted, and, becoming normalized in a manner that it all seems to be nonspecific and yet understood. We are in pain though because this normalization process is the gaslighting winning. The pain is real and it comes now from both sides as the liars are suffering too. They are running out of people that haven’t seen Three Card Monte before, and, the con is winding down.
Memory of what is real and true is challenged by the little lies. Taking notes, watching video of events all help in solidifying true memories. Memory is what gaslighting attempts to destroy or modify replacing it with a state of mind that is pliable and weakened. Call it bullying, abusive behavior. It is those, but, more specific as gaslighting begins slowly and when trust is established, can escalate bringing the mind to a place where the most absurd ideas seem reasonable and the reasonable has been left behind as prosaic.
The truth will set us free but applying the truth may be as difficult as giving a pill to a pet. The help of calm steady minds with information as the Jan 6 Committee is is perfect. In tandem with true information, the love and support of family and friends can bring people together and begin a process of closing the divide and moving forward from this, whatever this is.
On one end of the rack (see Medieval rack above) we have the promises of technology and a bright and prosperous future, on the other we have ideology using laws to hold us back, turning to the ideology of a distant past. Our need to end the charade is serious as it is a tournament of wills that will solidify power for the foreseeable future. Saying the Jan 6 Committee has no real teeth, or that it won’t matter, are simply more fake and shady lies is a pull us apart.
The committee will matter. It already does.
