Classified document(s) found on a laptop, belonging to a Trump aide. Let’s dissect this just a little. On a laptop likely does not mean, “laying atop the closed device”. It is on the laptop itself in electronic format. This means it was either scanned or photographed somehow, sent somehow to the laptop computer. So yet another device is involved and who owns that and where is it? Was it sent by email, message or some app installed? And the original? Accounted for previously or still in the wind? It’s just a tweet, by a guy. Having seen in his bio - although retired, a senior Executive at NBCUniversal, I have high confidence in his information, although the info is yet unconfirmed.
In other news, we shot down an object that was flying at a high altitude over Alaska air space. Found at 40,000 feet, the object, still unidentified, was a credible threat to passenger aircrafts. Downed by a missile from one of ours, a military aircraft and shot down inside United States territorial seasonally frozen waters. Quite a bit smaller than the big white Chinese balloon that was tracked and also shot down, but along the east coast. We are waiting for collection efforts and more information on both incidents. Highly interesting although no real threats are reported.
Speaking of incidents, George Santos. Lawmakers have filed a resolution for the expulsion of Santos from Congress. For complete details the YouTube announcement is offered. The LGBTQ contingency within the Congress has banded together for this demand to be heard and a vote to be made on his expulsion of Congress by Congress. This group of mostly LGBTQ and Congressional freshmen are working with the Ethics Committee to have George Santos removed since he declines to resign.
It’s understandable that after the lies and the jokes of the lies and then more lying, (and the heartbreaking dog stories) he needs to be released of the oath he took since he has lost all credibility. Although no longer on sensitive committees, there is still more information he’s being given that requires a certain level of an identity clearance and vetting to receive. Not knowing his motivations for the series of events that led him quite on purpose to the Capitol, his removal is particularly important for his constituents as well as the integrity of the Congress.
The fact that both Elise Stefanik and Kevin McCarthy were familiar, familiar enough, with Santos prior to his election, and priorly through his campaigning process. The level of vetting or lack of vetting or if vetted, maybe they liked what they found… perhaps there was an introduction? Maybe someone like Manafort with a debt to an oligarch to pay, offered him up as a strong suggestion to run. No charge. Free. Take him. Please.
Lastly and most important we wait for news that is likely forthcoming, any day, from DA Fani Willis of Fulton County, Georgia, concerning the possible indictments of multiple defendants including Donald Trump and Rudy Giulani for their role in asking Georgia’s top officials to overturn the election results that was a clear and uncontested Biden win. The news we are looking for is, if Georgia will charge Donald J. Trump for criminal behavior or not. If an inditement is brought, it will be the first for Trump concerning his responsibility surrounding the coup. Kinda like a test balloon.
