Revised, New thoughts on Trump coup end. Limo driver gets medal. (not really)
Trump, patron Saint of Losers.
New portions of this article will be in bold.
There were new and more complete thoughts about the repercussions of Trump being taken to the White House rather than the Capitol after his talk to his supporters on January 6, 2021. They are added to the entirety of this article for clarification. Thank you.
Ariel view of the coup mob on January 6, 2021.
In the late hours, face mask blocking the faint light of 11 pm drifting gently off … internally seeing Trump lunge at Bobby Engel, the Secret Service officer who served as his driver on January 6, 2021. How else have we slept since November 8, 2016?Regarding that fateful day on Jan 6, Cassidy Hutchinson, Mark Meadows assistant told the Jan 6 committee, and the world that Trump asked then demanded to go to the Capitol to meet the mob.
As reported in the NY Post June 28, 2022 article, Ms. Hutchinson said, at the hearing, what she heard back at the White House office that day of the insurrection when talking to Tony Ornato, White House deputy chief of staff for operations.
“I looked at Tony, and he said, ‘Did you f—ing hear what happened in the Beast?’” Hutchinson said. “He proceeded to tell me that when the president got in the Beast, he was under the impression from Mr. Meadows that the off the record movement to the Capitol was still possible or likely to happen and that Bobby had more information.”
It was not possible, Engel told Trump. Presidential security is a legend of strict, but nothing was ever by the book in Trumpworld and we also learned from the Jan 6 hearing that Trump had wanted the “mags” (metal detectors) taken down that would keep guns out of the mobs hands. He was reported saying that “these were his people” and woulnd’t harm him. Engel was adamant and following protocol, took Trump back to the White House. But first, Cassidy related what she had been told, Bobby refused to go off script
‘We’re not, (going) we don’t have the assets to do it, it’s not secure, we’re going back to the West Wing,’ the president had a very strong and very angry response to that,” Hutchinson said.
“Tony described him as being irate. The president said something to the effect of ‘I’m the f—ing president! Take me up to the Capitol now!’ To which Bobby responded, ‘Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing.’
“The president reached up toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm and said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge toward Bobby Engel.”
TFG denied the event ever happened, fake this, sick that. So, that seems from past experiences like plausible confirmation.
Thinking, floating, behind the my mask, “Hmmmm.” That’s why he was reported to be alone, fuming and decorating our walls with his lunch. Musing… the following scenario was dreamed up. He didn’t just want to go to the Capitol, he planned on going to the Capitol. He was blocked and what was he going to do there? Confusion would rein and cause a constitutional crisis. Who becomes the leader in charge of the government and military when the sitting POTUS goes to the Capitol and puts a stop to certification of the vote? Off script indeed, a coup by the sitting president to block the incumbent from being certified surrounded by two thousand armed supporters.
Surrounded by a surging supporters, cheers of “MAGA MAGA” waves over the thousands of insurrectionists. Capitol police are forced to bunker with members of Congress and wait for help against a mob that will not disperse. POTUS forced to refuge in Nancy Pelosi’s office with the shaman. Those outside the Capitol are faced with who is in charge? After some hours, and calls from Pence and Pelosi from the depths of the building, Pentagon officials take charge sending in the National Guard. Hundreds are injured dozens perish as flames destroy several historic rooms.
Didn’t happen. But it could have.
There was a plan to fix it but good. Why else go to all this trouble in the weeks and months previous to the date, there were many little levers to push and pull to make this thing work. Changes at the pentagon, changes limiting the weapons allowed for the Capitol police. An April NY Times article pinpoints the lack of preparation afforded to the Capitol police in advance of the day. It was a planned event at the Elipsis nearby the building. They were set up to fail in a proper defense of the Capitol and the humanity hiding within it. This was the Trump plan. All to get him to the Capitol but, …the limo driver.
In planning, Trump saw only success. Bobby Engle drives him to the Capitol. He parts the sea of insurrectionists, they touch tops of flagpoles together creating a canopy for him to walk through. He goes to the Capitol, doors fling open and the ballots await. Two piles, one for Biden and the fake for Trump. He grabs the Biden ballots and rips them in two and keep ripping, into confetti. Passing the bits around and everyone eats them. Slaps hands together as if dusting them off, gets into the limo and returns to the West Wing. Complete in the mission, POTUS for life.
Trump schmoozes and calls people by their first name when appropriate and especially when not appropriate. Taking liberties, breaking down class or rank barriers all to one advantage, his. “You wouldn’t deny a friend” basically is the riff. He’d had months and months to wear them down to do his work. Remember when Trump was airlifted to the hospital? After a couple days he was better and the secret service men wearing gowns and masks and drove Trump around as he waved. After a drive in a limo, an event that simply returned him to the hospital seemed pointless and needlessly exposing people to the virus. Perhaps there is no relationship between the two however the hospital stunt seems like a good way of testing the secret service as to their flexibility and their willingness to go “off book” with little warning. Because he wants to wave to his fans. You wouldn’t deny a friend…
Trump gives the hi sign to supporters as Secret Service take him or a joy ride while at Walter Reed Hospital. Trump was actively ill with COVID-19, no vaccines were yet available.
Engel was asked for, as were all secret service agents, for his text messages. Oddly, sigh, all messages were deleted, phones changed or reset and darn if you had just asked for all that before, but now…
Engel was also among the Secret Service officials whose phones were turned over to the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, as part of an investigation into missing Secret Service text messages from Jan. 5 and Jan. 6, 2021. The agents' text messages were previously subpoenaed by both the inspector general and the House select committee.
Testimony to the Jan 6 committee resulted in little substantive information except a sidestep seemed obvious.
Trump, Hutchinson maintains was furious. He had been taken by Engels to the West Wing where he spent time alone watching the days events unfold on tv. Alone while his family watched sipping champagne. Perhaps he was enraged, needing to handle it, his failure, without having anyone to talk to about the secret plan that ended wrongly. His plan and he was alone.
He would have been president today, he is sure, if he had only been driven to the Capitol. He failed. He failed to get the driver to take him where he had to go to finish the job. He didn’t get out and attempt to walk. Does he know how to drive? He didn’t pull a punch or make a mark. He fumed, threw ketchup. He failed miserably so he blamed Mike Pence.
