I mostly agree with you too. I’m just one small voice, not the decider. If only I were. But, the world is complex and contains everything we know and other things too. Politics included. As a people watcher although not perfect I get feelings from people about their character. Biden is sold to us as a decent man who’s looking out for people. I believe he his moral compass is working and aligned with my values. His ability to make positive change after so much tearing down of NATO, science bc of Covid and the very poor information pushed of anti mask info, ivermectin. He’s a person and people by nature are flawed, make errors and I’m sure Joe Biden makes mistakes and errors and regrets them. And there’s the difference for me with the comparison with Trump. Is he evil? I’m not an exorcist but he’s an unrepentant foolish man who thinks we don’t see his bad behavior, theft, selfishness. He’s playing the world for fools which we are not and doing evil even if he is not evil. The discussion of ‘does evil exist’ is one I’m willing to have but not here.

Biden botched the Anita Hill hearings in more than one way. My husband wouldn’t forgive that, really bothered him when he first ran. I also was not thrilled on that subject but I knew NATO needed what he could do. The economic changes to a different plan alone will be historic. Perfect guy? Nice politician? For a writer, writing broad thoughts and looking to make impressions on people that may stick in the brain, a bit of high contrast or exaggeration helps.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Overall I tend to agree with what you write but I do diverge in one big area. You say something along the lines that Biden is clean. I recognize that Trump is an existential threat to not only this country but to the world. However, recognizing that one side is “bad” does not mean the opposing side is “good.”

I have issues with ALL politicians as all politicians are human. I do not see what is happening as a battle between good and evil or right versus wrong. I see evidence of “true believer” righteousness on the left. However, the left does not appear to be nearly as extreme or dangerous as the right. Everything is complicated.
