Republican control of the conversation is incorrect. Democrats backpedal as Republican push for a fight. Bullies like “Mad Marge” are over the line defending Jack Teixeira as a patriot. Fortunately, Liz Cheney managed to interject a bullhorn of sanity today by calling for an end to Rep. Green’s briefings of classified information.
With Jack Teixeira having been arrested and NY Times reporting suggests the motivation for the decimation of the material is not motivated politically or in a whistleblower capacity. When more is known, I’m sure journalists will have more. Difficulty with Greens aggressive and loud opinions is that she often sounds like a traitor if her actions don’t also signal this. Her job is Aggravator in Chief or so it seems, lighting up the solar plexuses of gymrats with guns. Difficult because she is in Congress. Mad Marg is offering the wrong conversation. Liz Cheney knows it and goes to the heart of the matter. By the way, Liz is getting the best of Marge.
The complexities of an issue roll back and forth. The abortion conversation is a good one to mention, continuing the pro-life charade seems silly. Weighing in on the different states and their pending and finalized charts of how many weeks, months, what travel conditions, if this, not that. Reported are the doctors confusions and the hurt to women and yet we accept we no longer have federal control and the states are floundering in a territory they were never equipped to handle. I suggest we don’t accept those things. The conversation needs to roll back to the beginning if necessary. Demands that doctors and patients and HIPA and all that. HEALTH INFORMATION PRIVACY ACT. PRIVACY and all that stuff. Send the church ladies back to being cloistered nuns or where ever they came from.
Desantis today signs a bill limiting to abortion to a time limit where most (nearly every) woman are unaware of their pregnancy. This demands all sorts of testing or disclosure from the woman. No? Or the physician. While the following is also true.
As Republicans build walls and fences around everything with add ons and caveats, I suggest, no.
Clarence Thomas. OH, NO!
Disclosure for team SCOTUS not required? Really. Republican intellectuals, their minds are ready to finally explode. How dare anyone, huff huff puff. Yes, we dare and we must. The bubbling cauldron of trickery from the top is over the top.
Russian propaganda is really interesting. It’s been brought here and resist as some did, it’s been said over and over that propaganda is their super power. The Q theories and all the more than quirky stories told and retold, JFK Jr and all the conspiracy nonsense become the stories, the anecdotes of life. Even when you’re not invested in them. They have become nods and winks to us all. We know which is a lie and which we just don’t push back on. The Republican Party has learned a lot. What they fail at is honesty and empathy now in the party as we now know it. Yet, Democrats speak with the same mindset as dealing with a Republican counterparty of 1960. Republicans are learning or have learned the first rule of propaganda. Control the conversation.
So, Thomas may be laundering money. We don’t know.
Thomas’s wife may be a candidate for an orange jump suit because of her role in Jan 6. We don’t know.
No man (or woman) is above the law. We are so chewing this around and around. Seems the ones doing the chewing the most are Republican pundits. Should we, can we, what if we indite a former president? If we do we must aim cause if we shoot the duck will land and it will go bad and cry weep tear cloths. Hello! Guess what? We did and we are better off for it.
SCOTUS is the arbiter of law and yet the mortal men and women who pronounce the rulings to the nation through it are above the law we all must abide. If that is the answer, the question, the conversation is the wrong conversation.
Thomas and his wife need to be investigated for a sack full of reasons.
In a democracy, we rule as a nation through our votes and consent to laws upon which we agree in a majority. If that is not true, why not? That is a good conversation starter.
