SCOTUS will likely.. ohhhhh, it’s time for the Magic Eight ball. Again and again.

Mifepristone will or it will not be available for the use for abortion or miscarriage or any other reason. The drug is a progesterone blocker. It takes a pivotal hormone that is necessary for the continued development of a pregnancy out of the equation temporarily. It’s also a hormone that is included in all sorts of over the counter creams available to women for menopause. I digress, since this decision has nothing to do with anyones health.

In a broader sense, abortion, book banning, attempts to Christianize the country, open carry of guns and freedom to purchase assault weapons has nothing to do with anything except control of us, our population. Eliminating choice, limiting education, and terrorization of our countries population for governmental control. Nice. But, good to know what we are fighting for. It’s called democracy. I will argue any day of the week that we are losing control, losing our democracy and the end result will look much like what is happening today in Ukraine. They are fighting for democracy for themselves in their country today because Putin has decided he will take the country with or without its citizens. It’s not a war, it is a genocide to eliminate the people that are defending their country by an invader.

The voices that are making the effort in deflecting away from Putin, deflecting from truth to tell lies about Biden and Russia are the same voices looking to create a default in the federal government by refusing to, again, I digress. The issues are less important than the motion, the thrust, the daggers aimed at democracy. They come from a tiny soapbox with volume turned up to 11. The same soapbox folds nicely into a pocket and silently slips away when children are killed in school. When a driver using a random driveway to turn around is shot dead. We hear nothing, the grifters are gone in the night like all the snake oil salesmen that came before them.

This concept is pivotal to where we are in history. We who are committed are in contention with unethical actors whose mission is to destroy the institution from within. The Ukraine war is unethical and immoral. The Republican party is pursuing additional unethical and some would say, immoral policies. It’s happening daily. Notably in Florida, Texas, Arkansas.

Everyday that we hear the lies and feel the push towards an authoritarian rule in the US, is a day we accept less from them and from ourselves.

Ron DeSantis is likely only able to run and likely lose for dog catcher in 2024. Although he was given the nod time and time again as the potential candidate, he has flubbed more times and more ways than the Disney film Flubber. “It’s over” for him however as governor of Florida, there’s still plenty of damage he can do. Steve Schmidt has called it. “It’s over” for DeSantis who is known on the internet as Rhonda Santis. Pronouns be darned, Ron’s been made into a drag queen for our laughs for his “don’t say gay” policies. This leaves Trump holding the 2024 reins with few interested in the battle to unseat the man with nothing to lose. It’s still early. There is always a new wrinkle in time.
