US Constitution or Trump on the ballot

I doubt if the MAGA crowd is happy about the Maine decision to leave Trump off the ballot. With Maine as probably the first strong call in support of the 14th Amendment section 3, with little wavering room for discussion, the country can begin to judge the emotional response to expect in the coming months. As more states face the inevitable challenge of choice, the choice will be the US Constitution or Trump.

Break the document in its clear meaning and the fundamental stays of the country are removed. Yes, I’m dramatic and no it’s not an exaggeration of the condition. We have all fretted about the guardrails on our pretend highway as Trump smashes from side to side seeking the break point. Guardrails will be gone and the broken amendment will leave zero problem for let’s say, Jair Bolsonaro? He may be free for an election or two. So, why should that little thing about being born in the US to be president be a deterrent for someone so… qualified? So last millennium.

No slope is too shallow, it will become slippery. No increments too tiny not to take flea bites at the edge. Hands off. It’s already been damaged beyond repair in the second amendment. Founding fathers were invoked for their foresight in giving us protection in the form of guns. That along with some money slathered here and there, the NRA managed along with the new grandfathers of the “freedom caucus”, the tTea Party, to wash the country in guns and ammunition. Where is that militia everyone was wondering about? Right here. Ready and waiting for the xeet, truth, post to TikTok into the hearts and minds of defenders in waiting. Accoutrements for the next insurrection planned, in place. Do you doubt the possibility? How does that dictator pull it off exactly?

The hand waving and dismissals will be strong. Don’t waver. Shouting will be next. A little shoving maybe. Just as Roe caught us feeling the backhanded slap of the master, it will go again and again.

Trump doesn’t deserve the chance to be rejected by the electorate, I would add, again. He’s already forfeited the privilege with his behavior. Don’t waver.
