Vance Family Values.

The model family is made up of,... oh yes.

Don’t want another baby? I get it, car seats and the rules are just too demanding. Vance this month, in a video:

“American families aren't having enough children. I think there's evidence that some of the things that we're doing to parents is driving down the number of children that American families are having. In particular, there's evidence that the car seat rules that we've imposed, which of course I want kids to drive in car seats, have driven down the number of babies born in this country by over 100,000. So as we think about how to make kids safe here, I think we should do it in a way that's accommodating to American families, and I encourage your organization to do that.

JD can’t leave it alone. First we were treated to the “childless cat lady” remarks Vance labeled merely “sarcasm”. I think the definition may have changed on Trump and Vance both. They think sarcasm is a joke like, “Did you ever wonder what they call people who sleep in their socks? Tiny!” That was a bit of a riddle, so maybe they think their one liners are more like this: “Bad jokes are like potato chips — it's impossible to stop after just one.” That one, that could use a drum roll and a cymbal crash.

Often confused with irony, vocabulary.com says “Sarcasm is sometimes used as merely a synonym of irony, but the word has a more specific sense: irony that's meant to mock or convey contempt. This meaning is found in its etymology. In Greek, sarkazein meant "to tear flesh; to wound." When you use sarcasm, you really tear into them.

So, yeah, ok, he was sarcastic then. Not the deflection it could be there JD.

But this, below, Derrick Anderson at an empty table in an uncluttered room. Looks like a family in a cheap ad or a photo one gets when buying a frame. Awkward, but offered.

And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful house"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful wife"

Derrick Anderson, trying to make the grade, in response to Vances statements that childless Americans are disorienting and disturbing, borrowed a wife and kids,… to be normal? That is weird.

Rebuttal: He did not explicitly SAY in a caption, wife, child. You just assumed it was his family, that is on you bro.

A spokesperson for Anderson told the Times that “Derrick’s opponent and every other candidate in America are in similar pictures and video with supporters of all kinds,” adding that the content in question simply featured “with female supporters and their kids.”

I’d think that the neighbors might realize,… anyone have a roll of hundreds? No?… It’ll be fine, here,… you know nothing…

So, we’re just mistaken about the family photo and here is his fiancé. On a first date?

So, that is his fiancé. No children. Lives with his dog. A Dalmatian.

Not feeling like he’s making the standard? He’s not enough as he is? Feeling he has to lie to get accepted? He’s just in the wrong party.

But then, I got to googling. Information on Anderson is extremely thin. He was Special Forces Army. Then a lawyer. His facebook page is number one on the search. Nice smile.

No Wikipedia page has even been created for him as a hopeful congress guy. No details to speak of. Are we supposed to vet our politicians on facebook now? That’s the official page? To say the GOP isn’t supporting his run,.. not even a website? Maybe there’s a mention of him on one somewhere. The only Derrick Anderson on Wikipedia:

Derrick Anderson, the one running against Vindman, his googelability, (how much info at the drop of a “search”) is even less full than Vance’s. We’ve seen Vance’s awkward donut purchase and impromptu grocery store visit featuring eggs. He gives the same impression as Derrick at the mostly empty table. Off, wrong, weird.

Eugene Vindman is running for the same seat in Virginia. His twin brother is Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, who testified Nov. 19, 2019, during a public impeachment hearing of President Donald Trump’s efforts to tie U.S. aid for Ukraine to investigations of his political opponents.

Below, Eugene, said, “On July 25, 2019, my brother, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, who also served on the NSC [National Security Council], came to my office with a look of grave concern,” a page on Vindman’s campaign website reads. “He just heard President Trump attempt to extort our ally, Ukraine, unless it investigated his political rival, Joe Biden. We reported the call up the chain of command, and the result was Trump’s first impeachment. His vengeance cost us our careers.”

Should we wonder why Trump wants to deport all immigrants because of just a few “bad” ones? Oops, sarcasm alert.

Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns has produced a new documentary short for NYT Opinion on twin brothers Alexander and Yevgeny Vindman, who both fled Ukraine with their father in search of a better life. In the new video, the Vindman brothers discuss Ukraine's current refugee crisis. Below is more about Alex and Eugene, their family. None of which are borrowed.

Hoping Eugene will win the seat.

The use of the word “refugee” by the twins in the video, intrigued me rather than the words we’re using more recently. A word that has within it the just right expression of need. Seeking refuge. It’s what my grandparents did, sought a better life. Trump thinks we are the ones being attacked and our life is getting worse. That’s weird, or am I being sarcastic? Could be both,… no?

And lastly, how did we get here…
