The attempted assassination of Nancy Pelosi has gone unnoticed. People know it happened. The kid glove handling of the information to come out on the physical attack on her husband, Paul belies the serious implications of what happened, as a man came into the Pelosi house with a plan to harm, likely murder Nancy Pelosi and any be undeterred by any other damage that he might cause in the course of this plan. It’s been tamped down and the rhetoric has shown that Nancy Pelosi has now replaced Hilary Clinton. It’s not her emails, it’s her plan to overthrow the country on Jan 6. Or, it’s her calling off of the National Guard on Jan 6 or ‘something something Nancy’. They, every MAGA spokesperson, every MAGApolitician are children with hands in the cookie jar and more than half the country is letting them get away with it. The few calling the politically motivated assisination attempt what it is are easily passed over as Media generally sells democracy down what ever river is handy.

There is what I call “new media”. It’s here in this writing. It’s on Substack, Patreon, YouTube and podcasts. We don’t need special internet wiring or filters yet to hear it all as they do in Russia. Only state propaganda is fed to stations, and these hacks that bring information from Europe aren’t available in North Korea or China. The five and six o’clock news network affiliations are devoid of anything of substance maybe because the substance is alarming. The way the substance is being delivered now is through the MAGA lens or at very least designed not to upset the MAGA Cult. Don’t get TheDonald too upset. He may call on his troops. Again. Those who aren’t in jail or awaiting trial may come out. But the fear of what could happen is still there. Jan 6 was in our living room and what raw hell will be there next? We are being pined into a corner by disrespectful American values bashing infidels and their criminal behavior.

It’s unreasonable that Fox is still here, still lying. When the Dominion law suit is decided, billions of dollars that belong to Rupert Murdoch may be turned over to Dominion thanks to Sydney the Kraken and her insistence that the Dominion equipment was faulty. Murdoch seems to continue to bankroll Hanity, Ingram and the rest but for how long. He has really deep pockets and hasn’t seemed to falter once. How long can we continue to say ok to foreign influence in our news adjacent broadcasting? At least we ditched the Russian propaganda machine that was clearly labeled, RU. We have not successfully culled the wrong, the bad and the stupid from public air or discourse. Alex, we will get you yet.

We cannot just wait for the election to come around and with hope we will “win”, Huzzah! We must start to live the fight. Ukraine today is the photo we must avoid becoming. War has yet to come to our shores since 1812. It’s not impossible. A Civil War is also not impossible. Fight with words, fight with actions. Talk about the importance of civil discourse. Gather with love and help towards your neighbors. Buy birdseed. Adopt a pet. Pick up garbage from a vacant lot. Help neighbors get to the polls. Vote.

The demise of women’s rights will sink society, indeed civilization as we know it and faster than you can say, “Sorry, both mother and child, didn’t make it.”

If and only if, we can increase the numbers in the house and senate, we as a nation can secure the right of women and make it law. This is why MAGA and the right in general are fighting so hard. Their life, their power depends on depriving us of ours. It is not true but it is what they think and how they are acting. It is an authoritarian stance and in a democracy we all get to have a voice.

MAGA is a cult of domestic terrorists. They use words as intimidation and gaslighting diminishing not just us but themselves by their work. It’s clear that David DePape was looking for Nancy, specifically. That he had fairly extreme right material on his social pages has been established. Here is how Maureen Dowd of the New York Times characterizes him in her article about Halloween. “The police said the intruder was David DePape, a 42-year-old from Berkeley, Calif.”. She describes a general climate of violence in NY, on the heels of “other” seemingly random criminal acts of violence such as pushing someone into an oncoming subway train. That violence is also likely not so random. an increase on street attacks and crime are not random but with reason. Sizing someone up on a platform and figuring they look “woke”? Need a lesson, no problem.

The politicians, the Democratic ones holding office must and should say more. They are obviously being threatened and under attack, too. So, next level, us. We must protect ourselves but we must talk. Among ourselves and loudly so “they” hear. “Free speech” tell them. It’s frightening. Get used to it. We are the ones on which the future depends.
