Fox news is a mouth piece for the Republican Party, not a news outlet at all. Hard pressed to call it “news”, more like propaganda because it served the unverifiable statements pumped nonstop concerning Trumps loss at the polls in 2020. His loss was turned into a win by magic, sleight of hand, a slip of the tongue, a crazy little woopsy poopsie untruth.
Rupert and Jerry in happier times. Murdoch and Hall finalized their divorce in Aug of 2022. Jerry Hall is also the former better half of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.
Revealed today were more legal documents by Dominion. A link is provided here. These will be poured over in the next days by pundits, news outlets and interested citizens. What’s most important is that when Dominion goes to court on April 17, 2023, the case is pretty much over. The suit is about - Did Fox lie about the Dominion voting machines failure that was in effect then said to be giving votes to Biden that were legally cast for Trump. Dominion was accused over and over of tossing the election fraudulently to Biden. The suit alleges that there were no failure of the machines that were slandered over and over again causing harm to Dominion and it’s employees. The results of the vote were tested over and over and the subject of many lawsuits. Here is an amazing link about nothing but the numbers of lawsuits. Thanks CNN!
Under oath, Murdoch answered questions about knowledge, when and more. The stunning admissions are, stunning. He knew Trump lost the election from the moment we all did. When Biden won the 2020 election for president of the United States. It was announced everywhere. The CEO Suzanne Scott seemed to think the viewers needed to be let down easily. The decision to say that Trump won when he did not, played into TFG’s fantasy as well as would keep the views happy. Here’s an article I wrote previously about the first round of Fox revelations. Murdoch gave Scott some time to work it out. During the discovery the Fox owner admitted the error in reporting thusly,
The bar to proving that Fox not only lied, they knew they lied and continued to keep the issue alive is at the heart of the Dominion suit. Settling or having the judge pronounce the verdict seem the only two options now. Murdoch’s testimony outlined in the documents leads one to think “malice” was involved. That is at the heart of this clear first amendment case. Did they know they were lying? Or, was there reckless disregard for the truth?
If Murdoch manages to settle, hey, more power to him, but there is a feeling about the case, Dominion has pursued this case for the truth, and to clear its name. If it goes to a jury trial to settle the dollar amount owed by Fox to Dominion, it could, because of how the law works, double or triple the one point six billion dollar figure Dominion is already declared. I’m told they can pretty much tell Murdoch to write a check for many billions. It depends on the damage they assess was done to Dominion.
There are other results of the lie. There is no clue at this time, as I am not a lawyer, but have watched many on tv, that perhaps, just maybe, there are others that can hold Fox and Murdoch liable for injury, death, losses of many kind’s have resulted because the notion that Trump won the election was still alive. Like Frankenstein’s monster.
We have been told so many stories about 45. The Nazi, Hitler ones really are worth mentioning. Something about a gift of Mein Kampf, a book written by Hitler, by his bedside. If he reads at all, it was indeed, this book.
Mister very misunderstood, the ultimate underdog, Trump would definitely identify with the “struggle” and gain inspiration on how Adolf Hitler came to power and would not let it go.
We are still in a tenuous time. Trump is running for president in a yet unconfirmed spot. Congressclowns have been installed with horrid pedigrees of how they came to be elected. George Santos is indeed the poster child for this modus operandi. There are inklings of more to talk about soon concerning other successful candidates for the party that lied about themselves to the voters. Santos could be tossed out anytime, but why hasn’t he been? The republican leadership, any of them could get the ball rolling, instead, George is pushing himself to the front of every line (like making sure he gets a photo op with Biden after sitting with Marge Green during the State of the Union speech) and taking his briefing as all Congresspeople do.
The implications of the Dominion case can’t be overstated. Aside from potentially stopping Fox News and the machine that fuels the GOP in its tracks, it sets a precedent for the future of how reporting will be done, specifically on Trump.
The first amendment is first for a good reason. We need to protect it.
